What emotions come into your thoughts in preparation for the Governor’s Cup?
Actually, the game is no longer referred to as the Governor’s Cup since they kind of ignore us these days. I feel a heavy burden upon my shoulders this week. Monte will be in town and he can be quite mischievous as in 2006 when he jumped on our play clock. I must be in total mental clarity to dominate the spirit competition between us. I feel great pride and honor in protecting our house (a.k.a. Woodward Field).
What do you do to prepare for this week’s game? Pre-game rituals?
You can see my pre-game workout ritual at goeags.com under Eagle Audio/Video Room. Other than my intense training, I eat plenty of carb-rich squirrels found in the elm trees around campus, and get lots of rest in my nest.
Do you have a memorable Governor’s Cup moment?
Probably the beating we laid upon the Griz in 2002 at Joe Albi. That was the last time we beat them at home.
Have there been tense moments with Montana faithful?
Yeah, they usually are pretty cranky when they come to town because they are jealous of our indoor plumbing and plentiful electricity. But other than that, I just entertain the true Eagle fans and welcome the energy Montana brings.
What are your predictions for the football game’s outcome?
EWU – 38, UM – 24
