Chiefs welcome 2010 with open arms

The Spokane Chiefs found themselves just one point out of first place in the U.S. Division during the early stages of December. It must feel like a long time ago since then, however, as the Chiefs stumbled into the new year losers of five straight and six out of seven.

There were a couple surprises to come out of the last week of Spokane Chiefs Hockey. Rookie Matt Marantz coming to the aid of Chiefs forward and notorious instigator Kyle Beach to act as his enforcer and Spokane still not getting any love from the voters of the Canadian Hockey League’s Top 10 teams, despite being on a wicked tear throughout the WHL rank among the most shocking moments of the past three games.

The last week of Spokane Chiefs Hockey can be interpreted a few ways. Well, at least the beginning of that week can be. But no matter how you look at it, the bottom line is that the Chiefs managed to earn five of a possible six points during their last three games.
